Operation ATHENA, Canada's contribution to the International Security Assistance Force in southern Afghanistan, is coming to a close with the deployment of the Mission Transition Task Force, the eleventh and final rotation of Joint Task Force Afghanistan, for the complex task of concluding a massive six-year commitment.

Concurrently, Operation ATTENTION is taking shape in the Kabul area and in Mazar-e-Sharif as Canada's contribution to the NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan (NTM-A).
